Crane Installation: Gantry Crane Installation Requirements

Gantry cranes are used for vertical lifting or vertical lifting and horizontal movement of electro-mechanical equipment for heavy objects, mainly including lifting mechanism, operating mechanism, luffing mechanism, slewing mechanism and metal structure.

General requirements for gantry crane installation are as follows:

1. Before the installation and erection of gantry crane, it is necessary to fully grasp the performance and characteristics of the crane, thoroughly understand the installation and erection sequence and method specified in the operation manual, and strictly abide by it.
2. When installing and erecting, pay attention to wind speed changes. The wind speed must conform to the design regulations, and generally should not exceed 13m/s.
3. The connection between the crane parts is correct and reliable.
4. During installation and erection, attention should be paid to observation and monitoring, unified command and reliable contact.
5. Lifting equipment and hoisting rigging should be strictly checked before use.
6. Observe the requirements of the use and installation of the wire rope, and do not produce hard bends, cage distortion, loose strands, broken wires and exposed cores.
7. The components must be installed in strict accordance with the design regulations, and they must not be canceled, replaced or added at will. Any modification must be approved by professional and technical personnel before they can be implemented.
8. After installation and erection, it must be strictly inspected.
9. Carefully observe the requirements of the lifting equipment capacity, the quality of the lifting components, the position of the center of gravity, the overall dimensions, and the height of the lifting point in the gantry crane manual.
10. Before lifting materials, after carefully checking the lifting equipment and hoisting rigging, a trial hoist should be carried out to confirm that it is safe and reliable.
