Last month, DQCRANES designed and manufactured a 7 ton heavy duty jib crane with European standard design for the customer in Ecuador. The following is detailed project for your reference!
Background:
The customer was from Ecuador, looking for a
floor mounted jib crane which was installed at an iron ore mine. The mine is located underground, and the motorized jib crane is used to lift iron products from the mineshaft to the surface, the distance between the underground and the hoist hook is about 15m. The crane is also used to move iron products around the mine site.
Challenges:
The mine is located in a remote area of Ecuador, and the climate is hot and humid. The crane is also exposed to dust and other contaminants from the mining process. These conditions can put a lot of stress on the jib crane and can lead to premature wear and tear.
Solution:
- After learning about the requirements from our customer, our sales engineer suggested a heavy duty jib crane with 7 ton lifting capacity (upper rotation with slewing bearing), considering that the jib crane's working radius is long and has about 6m lifting height underground. The customer was very interested in our design solution.
- Our sales engineer sent the jib crane design and best quotation to the customer, our customer was very satisfied. Another question he mentioned was changing the CD type wire rope hoist to a European standard electric hoist. No problem, our sales engineer updated the latest design drawing and price list, and the customer decided to purchase the jib crane from us.
